2014 Swine Production FireBuilding Consultant hired to assess damages at a multi- structure fire at a swine production facility in Southwest Minnesota and to prepare a detailed repair estimate valued at $7.3 million. Loss involved (5) buildings in excess of 190,000 square feet of breeder, farrowing and gestation buildings. Tasked to identify all structural components as well as all specialty equipment associated with the large volume production of swine. Provided project management and cost oversight during the repair process.
2014 Resort Lodge Frozen Pipes with Subsequent Water LossTwo buildings suffered extensive water damage following numerous frozen and ruptured sprinkler lines. We were tasked to assess the damage to the clubhouse and the pro shop and prepare a detailed estimate of repair totaling $550,000. The architecture of these structures similates that of Frank Lloyd Wright which added a component of difficulty to the assignment. We performed a peer review of the water mitigation invoices and noted considerable discrepancies which were amended at substantial savings to the carrier.
2014 Hemmingway @ Craig RanchServed as lead consultant to inspect multiple townhome structures following a hail storm. These consisted of 354 townhomes housed in 118 buildings. We coordinated with engineers and contractors to establish a scope of repair which involved only partial repairs of roofs and exterior components. The number of buildings, directionality of damages and partial repair scope created a logistics challenge. Our inspection followed a prior assessment which considered totaling all the roofs at a cost exceeding $4,000,000.00. By performing a detailed and orchestrated inspection of "Actual" damage, we were able to get an agreed repair scope with the owner's contractor at a savings of $3,000,000.00.
